Updated January 2007. Advances in automatic control and in new engine technology are sparking current progress in the personal aircraft field and the Hoverplane is the best design.
Some of the most interesting new work is not funded by the banks, government or industry, such as new prime movers and safer transport systems, not because they are bad but because they are revolutionary and may have major effects in industry. Small groups are involved and all are crying out for support for the coming wave of progress, the Hoverplane is one of these and is an ideal vehicle for the use of efficient motors. To build the first Hoverplane some support is available from government but this is only on condition that the inventor or builder is a registered company (now accomplished) having resources to cover half the cost and facilities to do the work, testing, certification etc.
Fund raising is important for new ventures such as this one and donations are VITAL at start-up.
The present plan is to save money by using a shortened glider fuselage with the inner wing sections reinforced to support the nacelles. A supply source (see home page) for the parts has been found and assembly work is progressing in a fully equipped workshop near Valleyfield. A Hoverplane fitted with electric engines is illustrated - see link, and this would be an ideal close inspection vehicle for UN work, either manned or unmanned.
